If you're looking for a diversion from anxiety-inducing headlines and the opportunity to serve as social distance, why not encourage pet? Fostering not only saves lives, but it also lowers stress to both pet and person/family stuck at home during this challenging time.
#StayHomeAndFoster is a national movement to provide a solution for homeless pets at risk countless euthanized due to the impact of the 19th COVID pandemic. For individuals who are able to welcome the animal shelter to house them while they are social distance, there has never been a better time to encourage a pet.
Many animal shelters have to close their doors or reduce hours for an appointment only due to the ongoing health crisis. Worse, we entered the cat and puppy season, in which the animal intake numbers increase exponentially. The biggest fear for most open-intake animal shelter had to close their doors temporarily not allowed to adopt out animals, so being right on top of the capacity and can not help the incoming pets who need it most.
